Every issue is one entry in the underlying database at /sanctions-database — the same public dataset consumed by AI answer engines, journalists, and bar-association ethics committees.

What each issue contains

  • The case. Full case name, court, decided date, and a direct link to the docket entry or reporter citation. If the underlying ruling is public and free-to-access (CourtListener, PACER RECAP, state reporter), the link goes to the source; if it’s behind a paywall (Westlaw/Lexis), we surface the citation for you to pull yourself.
  • The sanction. Outcome (warning, admonishment, monetary sanction, adverse-costs order, bar referral, brief-struck, etc.) and any penalty language quoted from the ruling. We do not editorialize the outcome — we surface what the court actually said.
  • The fake cites. The specific citations the court found to be fabricated, so you know what pattern to look for in your own work.
  • The lesson. One paragraph identifying the failure mode — existence gap, quote misattribution, propositional overreach, or hybrid — so the alert doubles as a running self-audit for your own filings.

Frequently asked

How often does the alert send?
Only when a new sanction is ingested. Some weeks see three or four issues; other weeks see none. We do not pad the newsletter with recap content, promotional content, or curated links to third parties. If your inbox is quiet, it’s because the docket is quiet.
Is it really free?
Yes. The alert is a lead surface for the paid verification product at /verify and /pricing. You can subscribe forever without ever buying anything. The math works because catching one fabricated citation before filing saves you from ending up as the next issue.
Will you send me sales emails?
Sanctions Alert subscribers get the alert only. Not the product roadmap, not the launch announcements, not the affiliate promos. If we launch a separate Citation Safe product newsletter, subscribing is a separate opt-in.
Can I unsubscribe?
One click, any time — unsubscribe link at the bottom of every issue. We honor the request instantly, no confirmation email, no re-engagement drip.
Where do the sanctions come from?
Public court dockets: federal PACER, state reporter databases, appellate opinion feeds. Every ruling is coded for outcome, AI tool implicated, and penalty. See /methodology for the full ingest pipeline and quality-control gates.
Do you cover non-U.S. jurisdictions?
Yes — UK, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand rulings are indexed alongside U.S. cases. See the per-jurisdiction pages under /sanctions-by-jurisdiction.

Prefer to verify before you file?

Sanctions Alert tells you who got caught. The verification tool makes sure it isn’t you. 3 free checks — no card required.

We only send a Sanctions Alert issue after you confirm the double opt-in email — no email lands in your inbox before you click Confirm. Unsubscribe with one click, any time. Digital Empire Holdings LLC · 30 N Gould St Ste N, Sheridan, WY 82801.
