Legal disclosure requirement (read this before signing up)
The FTC requires that anyone paid to promote a product must conspicuously disclose the paid relationship in every post, video, tweet, newsletter, or communication that includes your Citation Safe referral link. This is required by 16 CFR §255 (the FTC Endorsement Guides). Failure to disclose is enforced against the affiliate individually — not just against us — and can result in an FTC action plus immediate termination of your affiliate account.

Terms (summary — full contract at /affiliates/terms)
- Commission is 20% of every renewal charge for as long as the referred customer stays subscribed. Cancellations, refunds, and disputes reverse the commission for that period.
- FTC disclosure required on every post. See the amber box above and the full Affiliate Terms.
- 30-day last-click attribution: whichever affiliate's link the customer clicked last (within 30 days of signup) is credited.
- No self-referrals — signing up with your own affiliate link, or coordinating with someone to do so, forfeits all pending commission and revokes the account.
- Payouts run monthly on the 5th via Stripe Connect once you clear a $50 payout floor. You'll set up your Stripe Connect account from your dashboard.
- No spam, no misleading claims about Citation Safe's capabilities (it's a citation-verification workflow tool, not legal advice).
- Citation Safe may pause or revoke an affiliate for material breach, with any earned but unpaid commission forfeited for the period of breach.
